A typographic, perfect-bound book that explores what synesthesia is like to those who innately experience it.

For those who experience synesthesia, a particular piece of information they perceive from the outside world such as taste, smell, and sight, is accompanied by a strange association–one that logically does not make sense to another person.

In order to help someone without synesthesia understand what it is like, I created a book that explains what it’s like to be a synesthete through a curation of articles and stories, as well as a visual explanation of layered pages, moving type, and illusion.

The contents page of the book is printed as a bookmark. For a synesthete, this metaphor is similar to the way different parts of the brain make connections. Without a reference, these connections do not make sense to an outside person.
